Overview
To safeguard the reliable supply of electricity to each community, we need to limit how much rooftop solar the electricity system can accommodate; this limit is called hosting capacity. By installing Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in ten regional networks, we will increase hosting capacity by up to 10MW across these communities, so more people can install and benefit from rooftop solar.
The project is being delivered as part of Horizon Power’s $75 million Renew the Regions program, a WA Recovery Plan initiative aimed at creating jobs and improving services in the regions.
